| Do You Believe In Miracles? Last Sunday we heard Jesus’s words from the book of Mark; “Everything is possible for one who believes.” And the afflicted boy’s father replied, “I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief.” So, I ask you now; Do you believe a miracle is possible for Resurrection MCC? Or do you need help overcoming your unbelief? I believe a miracle can, and will happen to give our church prosperity, financial freedom, and longevity. I am confident that the story of Resurrection will become a testament to the power of faith, hope, and the transformative nature of miracles. World Communion Sunday This annual celebration takes place on the first Sunday of each October and grew out of desire to bring churches together, to emphasize how important Jesus Christ is, and to remind us how all congregations are interconnected. Isn’t it wonderful that we get to celebrate communion each week? Have you thought about inviting a friend, neighbor, or family member to church to experience communion together at Resurrection MCC? Bridging Faith and Culture Next Sunday we will hear the story of Job. God allowed Satan to test Job’s faith, and even after Job lost everything, he praised the Lord. Well, after the last few months with the derecho and Hurricane Beryl, I have to wonder: Are we being tested? Does Resurrection MCC have a culture of faith? Do we still have it in us to say, “Praise the Lord” and “Look how blessed we are.” Faith, Hope, and Charity These three virtues have long been considered fundamental to Christian belief and practice. Faith: Faith is the belief in God’s promises. Hope: Hope is the confident expectation of good things to come. Charity: Charity is love in action. These virtues are interconnected. Faith provides the foundation for Hope, and Hope motivates acts of Charity. Together, they form a complete picture of Christ-like life! Grace abounds! Let’s receive it! |
