As we continue our journey through the Stories of Resilience series, Sunday’s sermon, “Harnessing the Power!”, reminded us of the incredible influence our tongues hold. Reverend Mona’s message from the Book of James highlighted how our words can shape our self-esteem and the feelings of those around us. The Self-Esteem of the Church Starts with Each of Us The Apostle Paul encourages us in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Each of us is a unique and valuable part of God’s masterpiece. When we recognize our worth in His eyes, it strengthens our self-esteem and enables us to contribute positively to the church community.   Building Up the Church’s Self-Esteem Let’s commit to using our tongues to build up the self-esteem of our fellow church members. Here are three ways we can do this: Speak Words of Encouragement: A kind word can go a long way. Take time to compliment others, offer words of encouragement, and express gratitude. Listen with Empathy: When others share their struggles, listen attentively and offer understanding and support. Pray for One Another: Lift up your fellow church members in prayer, asking God to fill them with confidence and self-worth. By harnessing the power of our tongues for good, we can create a church community that is characterized by love, support, and a strong sense of self-esteem. Let us strive to be a beacon of hope and encouragement to one another. May God bless you all, |
