| It’s here! Christmas Eve! Time to halt all of the preparations for the holiday and finish preparing our hearts for the birth of Jesus. The stores are closing but our hearts are open. Night is drawing nigh but the Light of the World is coming. The shepherds are keeping watch over their flocks, but the angels are keeping watch over a stable in Bethlehem. Mary is groaning and Joseph is anxious and the world doesn’t yet realize that love is being born. The wise men have yet to complete their journey, but they bring wonderful gifts to give to the newborn child. We come together to celebrate every year and every year we hear the same story. Every year we give and receive gifts from loved ones. Every year there is good food. Every year we probably fall into our beds exhausted by the time the day ends. What will be different this year? Will you open your heart a little wider to the Light of the World this Christmas? Will you share the love of Christ, a gift you have freely been given, with others? May you have a blessed Christmas! |
