See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? Isaiah 43:19

Dear Resurrection Family,

As we welcome Pastor George into our community, we are invited to trust and see what God holds for us in this season of change. This transition can feel like a doorway: part excitement, part adjustment, and part prayerful hope.

Our congregation has a story—faith journeys shared across years, answered prayers, hard seasons survived, and lessons learned along the way. Our numbers have waxed and waned, yet here we remain: ever prayerful and hopeful to see what God has in store for us. Change is often challenging, stirring up questions and uncertainty.

What is God calling us to become? Where are people hurting and need to be met with compassion? How can we serve our community with humility and joy? These foundational questions can help us turn “change” into “direction.”

We remember what God has already done, walking forward with courage, and building upon our past. And in faith, we believe God is working in the present to shape what comes next: stronger discipleship, deeper prayer, renewed worship, and meaningful relationships inside and outside the church walls.

Transitions are a test of unity. The future belongs to those who keep showing up and trusting God even while the details are still forming. Some people will be enthusiastic, others cautious, and some will simply be trying to understand what comes next. We are a family called to pray, participate, and support each other as we discern who will shepherd us into the future.

In the coming weeks, you will have opportunities to greet, meet, and listen to Pastor George. He will preach August 9th and August 16th and will be meeting with various teams/groups throughout the week.

You are invited to a Congregational Forum on Friday, August 14th, 6:30-8:30 PM in the Sanctuary to meet Reverend Oliver in person and have a brief question-and-answer session. The forum will also be accessible on our RMCC YouTube channel linked HERE.

We will hold a Special Congregational Meeting on August 16th at 12:30 PM, immediately following worship, to vote on whether to call Reverend Oliver as our next Senior Pastor.

Per Bylaws, ONLY members in good standing may vote at this meeting in one of two ways:

In Sanctuary: Members will need to check in, get a ballot and pen, and sit in the middle pews. Non-members may sit in the side pews.

Virtually: Members will need to follow the following steps to vote virtually:

Pre-register for the Zoom meeting through the Church Center App using the link HERE or the app’s “Events” page no later than 12:00 a.m. on August 14th.

After registering, you will receive an email with the Congregational Meeting Zoom link on Saturday, August 15th, at approximately 12:00 p.m. The subject line will read “RMCC Pastor Election Zoom Link.” Please do not forward this link.

On August 16th, the Congregational Meeting Zoom call will open at 12:15 p.m., and the meeting is scheduled to begin at 12:45 p.m. Online members should join early to allow time for access or technical issues. If the meeting is delayed, online members will be notified in the Zoom chat. Once the Congregational Meeting begins, no additional members will be admitted from the Zoom waiting room.

On August 16th, please display your first and last name on the Zoom screen so our team can verify your attendance and membership.

These are exciting times, and God is opening doors for our church to renew its focus, deepen its faith, and grow in community – join us!

In Christ’s Love,

Pastoral Search Committee
