| “We are afflicted in every way but not crushed, perplexed but not driven to despair, persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed.” —2 Corinthians 4:8–9 (NRSVUE) This past weekend reminded us that while plans may shift, our purpose and spirit never change. Just hours before our Laces and Legends Ball was set to begin, a sudden power outage forced us to postpone the celebration. The following morning, an unexpected strong smell of gas required us to follow safety protocol and evacuate the entire building about 45 minutes before the start of worship. But even in these back-to-back disruptions, God was not done with us yet. With quick thinking and deep faith, our church family pivoted. Worship was relocated, food was shared, instruments were moved, and joy poured out right where we were. Tables set for a ball became sacred altars. What could’ve been defeat became divine. We want to thank everyone for moving with grace and urgency. Your commitment to our mission made it possible for Resurrection MCC to keep going—and keep glowing. This is what “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” looks like in real life. This is what community looks like. This is what Pride looks like.
