Change Your Perception On How The World Works

Change Your Perception on How the World Looks
Change Your Perception on How the World Looks

I cannot help but see the parallels in Rev. Mona’s sermon last week, and our current circumstances as a church. God is working miracles in the alignment of scripture within our real-life situations to show us the way.

Rev. Mona spoke about “Choices: The defining moments in our lives. These choices change the perception of how the world looks to us and how we fit into it. As Jesus began his ministry, he had a defining moment in his life. He chose to be under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of God in his life.”

Jesus unveiled his authentic self to the people, and he knew there would be controversy; he knew there would be difficulty. He was in his hometown, not well received, looking for a place to bring his teachings. It was a deeply segregated city, divided by people’s religious differences. Not an ideal place to start a new ministry.

Jesus still went. His teachings were for everybody.

My brothers and sisters, I can’t think of a more defining moment in our lives as people of God and disciples of Christ. We live in a divided world. Our community is not well received, and our national leadership would like us to silence our voices. As with Jesus, we are not defined by a place or by others. We are defined by who we are and what we stand for – justice, equality, free speech, lifting those who need lifting, embracing the differences in each other with kindness, and loving each other unconditionally. We want to show the world that our loving God and our loving Jesus are for everybody.

As the leader of our Online Ministry, I recently hosted the first session of the “Social Media to Social Ministry” course, which I am teaching in a webinar format. This course is designed for churches who want to expand their outreach by creating inspiring content, sharing relevant information, and engaging with people where and when they need it most, conveniently online. This is discipleship in the digital age—an essential form of outreach that allows us to be seen and heard like never before. While this space is unfamiliar to many and can feel uncomfortable, it presents an unparalleled opportunity to connect and serve. We still go. Our teachings are here for all.

I invite you to learn more about this ministry and the positive impact it is having on RMCC. It has the potential to take our outreach to new and uncharted places. To support this growth, I am forming a Social Community Committee, and the seeds for this initiative are already taking root! I am excited for all of us and for the opportunity to bring fresh relevance to our NextGen Ministry and more personalized content for you.

Join us and go with us! You can learn more by watching the replay of our first webinar on YouTube HERE.

The next Social Media to Social Ministry live webinar is on Tuesday, February 4th at 7:00 pm CST. Register here and get the join link for Zoom.  REGISTER
